Office chair trends: ergonomic chair comparisons

What’s Ergonomic Chair?

The ergonomic chair is the latest kind of task chair, designed as a result of research into ergonomics. In recent years, an increasing number of people are spending extended periods of time working while sitting, particularly while using computers. This has led to a growing number of people feeling chronic pain in their lower back and stiffness in their neck and shoulders. A worsening of that chronic pain can stifle concentration and have a significant impact on productivity.

When a person sits, fundamentally, that seated posture places a burden on the lower back. If posture while sitting is poor, that burden is magnified. If you plan to sit while working for an extended period of time, we recommend selecting a quality chair, giving thought to it as an investment that will go towards your health. This will not only help you avoid unnecessary fatigue, but it may even bring changes to your efficiency while working.

Haworth’s ergonomic chairs

Haworth’s ergonomic chairs are independently developed, with an incredible amount spent on Research & Development. While you can find inexpensive ergonomic chairs on the market, these are chairs that have been produced simply by copying the designs of independent makers like Haworth. They may look similar, but the feeling of comfort when sitting is completely different. There are also many cases where task chairs are called ergonomic chairs, simply because they have many options for adjustment. However, again, the feeling of comfort when sitting in one is completely different. In particular, when sitting for extended periods of time, the difference is remarkably clear.

It’s hard to say that buying a cheap chair and then replacing it every few years is environmentally friendly. Wouldn’t taking care of a high-quality product be more in line with the times? Haworth is working to make products that take the environment into consideration, ensuring zero waste and using recycled materials.

Haworth’s ergonomic chairs can be purchased unit by unit, so we recommend them not just for corporate offices, but even for home offices! We’ve got samples ready to try out, so please come and visit us, take a seat and see just how comfortable Haworth chairs are.
